Ok, so I definitely cheated on the blushes portion of my 2017 favourites but I just couldn’t narrow my list down. It’s weird – I don’t think of myself a blush lover but in taking a look at 2017, it turns out I think I am!
Marc Jacobs Air Blush Soft Glow Duo ($57 CAD) Flesh & Fantasy
This blush gives an incredible glow on the face while adding a hint of colour. It kind of reminds me of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes in the way it glows and applies colour to my cheeks at the same time.
GOSH Natural Blush ($11.99 CAD) Flower Power & Melon
I was so shocked when I brought home this find from the drug store. The texture of the powders are so soft that if I go in with a hard, spiky brush the powder gets little tiny holes in it. That soft texture is what gives me such an effortless blend on my face. The colour is subtle but it’s what I love: deposits a soft wash of colour on my cheeks to define them but not be too overpowering
Annabelle Blush ($7.99 CAD) in Pronto
This blush literally looks like a nothing colour – but those are usually the best blushes! This has a soft sheen that is undetectable on the pan and gives me the most beautiful rose flush on the skin that is incredibly natural. I wouldn’t look at this colour twice usually but i’m so happy i picked it up. I don’t know how Annabelle did it but she formulated the softest most flattering blush
NARS Blush ($38 CAD) in Sin
I cant remember a time where I didn’t love this blush from NARS. It has a soft sheen to it (notice a pattern with my favourites? lol) and the most flattering purple that i’ve ever worn on my face. It makes me look instantly awake and done with just a swipe of colour on my cheeks. This blush lasts all day on me as well
Physicians Formula Butter Blush ($15.99) in Plum Rose
To all my beauties who prefer a subtle blush, you would love the Physicians Formula butter blushes. They are the softest blush texture I own (it almost feels creamy) and builds wonderfully on the skin to give you a very soft wash of colour. Plum rose is the perfect soft mauve colour to my cheeks!
Urban Decay Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Blush ($32 CAD) in Rapture
If you read my review on this product, you’ll see I didn’t actually think much of it. It was just another blush to push to the back of my collection at first. Then I went through a giant makeup purge and really put this formula to the test and never looked back. Although it looks like a regular blush in the pan, on the face it adds such a soft colour to the cheeks that creates such a nice finish to my skin. There is nothing regular or normal about this blush once applied, it gives my cheeks the perfect amount of colour and adds a glow and some colour without looking over done. LOVE!
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush ($45 CAD) Mood Exposure
I tried to resist buying this blush for the longest time until some gift cards I received finally did me in. This blush looks incredibly soft on my cheeks by adding an equal about of colour and attracting light to my face. A little goes a long way and the formula is so flattering on the skin that I could see myself using this one colour on repeat if I don’t force myself to try new colours
