2017 Favourite: Lips

Rouge Dior Liquid Lipstick ($43 CAD) in Hypnotic Matte

Rouge Dior Liquid Lipstick

I’m normally not a huge fan of liquid lipsticks because I couldnt find a flattering nude shade that i’m obsessed with or a formula that didn’t make my lips look 100 years older.  I know matte liquid lips tend to exaggerate lines or dryness in my lips but this one seems to get both things right: the colour is incredible and the formula is the most flattering one I have ever tried! This wears out evenly throughout the day and doesn’t leave behind that gross white stuff that some do. It feels light weight and comfortable on the lips and isn’t overly drying.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick ($29 CAD)

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick

This is my favourite red liquid lipstick that I own. The colours looks stunning on the lips and lasts through an entire event without any touch ups. The Stila formula looks incredibly flattering on the lips, is not overlying drying or stiff and I often forget I’m wearing this because it wears so easily. The colour applies really evenly as well and is a gorgeous deep red shade

Tarte Color Splash Lipstick – Rainforest of the Sea™ Collection ($27 CAD) in Rum Punch

Tarte Color Splash Lipstick

Remember when the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea lippies were all the rage? The hype behind this disappeared so fast but the lipstick lasted with me the majority of the year. I never thought I would use the word matte and flattering in the same sentence but these hippies make that possible. My favourite colour is Rum Punch, which is a light-medium mauve colour that looks stunning for any occasion or look

MAC Sheen Supreme Lipstick ($18.95) in Bare Again

MAC Sheen Supreme Lipstick

I have never gone through a lipstick as much as I have this shade. I’m on my third tube of this and there’s no signs of slowing down anytime soon. This adds the most incredible moisture on my skin, looks glossy but not overly shiny and the colour is my number one FAVOURITE nude shade.

Lancome L’Absolu Rouge SPF 12 ($34 CAD) in Beige Mirage

Lancome Lipstick Beige Mirage

I fell in love with this watching a Lisa Eldridge video (as i do with most of my makeup). It’s the perfect slightly warm, light nude pink that looks even better paired with a liner. I love the colour the most about this lipstick where the longevity is on part with my other shiny lipsticks (about 4 hours).

Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipstick ($18 CAD) : Honey

2017 was certainly the year for matte lipsticks and I to fall in love. Honey is the most incredible nude shade on my NC35 skin that I cant get enough of! The formula isnt very drying, it is extremely light and lasts a long time on me.

Charlotte Tilbury Lip Pencil ($27 CAD) in Pillow Talk

Charlotte Tilbury Lip Pencil in Pillow Talk

This is the only lip pencil I use. For a nude lip lover, I really don’t wear a lot of reds or bright colours on the daily basis so I rarely have a need for anything else. I have used this pencil all year and never had a desire to reach for anything else – If that doesn’t say favorite, i don’t know what does. It deepens up my nuds that are too light, lines my lips flawlessly, giving me a perfect shape every time and extend the wear of my lipsticks. It feels soft and light on the lips.
