During the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, I picked up the Charlotte Tilbury Pretty Glowing Skin Palette($102 CAD). Although the sale has long passed, the palette is still available online so I wanted to publish this review.
The Charlotte Tilbury Pretty Glowing Skin Palette contains 3 highlighters (1 sheen and 2 shimmers), 1 contour powder and 2 blushes. The palette is extremely compact: it was a lot smaller than I thought it would be, the packaging is minimal, which I love. However, at $100, I would have hoped that the design would feel a bit more luxurious but it’s whats in the inside that counts, right?
Powder: This reminds me of the KKW brightening powder. With a yellow undertone, this powder has a sheen to it that looks flattering under the eye to brighten the area without adding too much shimmer or glow.
Bronzer & Contour: This is a cool tone brown ideal for contouring and similar to what Charlotte Tilbury has in her Sculpt and Glow palette.
Pretty Blush: The two blush shades look the exact same on the cheeks. Pretty is a bit more pink whereas Summer Blush is more coral. Both are bright and vibrant shades that are flattering on the skin and last all day.
Glow (top): pink shimmer shade that adds a subtle glow when buffed into the skin
Glow (bottom): yellow shimmer shade that adds a subtle glow when buffed into the skin
Overall, while this is a nice palette, it’s not $100 CAD nice. The powders are incredibly subtle so would show up best on fair skin and be virtually invisible with anyone who has a medium and above skin. The blushes look the same and the highlights need to be layered to be seen. I much prefer the other blush, contour and highlight products from Charlotte Tilbury’s line (I have a review posted here) and would pass on this one.
