Clarins Bronzing Compact- Summer 2018

Every summer, Clarins releases a limited edition collection that includes a bronzer ($42 CAD). After buying last years Clarins bronzing compact, I was hooked. Not only are these stunning products, you also get a ton of product and it’s extremely wearable! It looks just as (if not more) flattering on the skin as it does in the pan. This years summer bronzing compact has cute pink flamingos on the lid and embossed in the powder as well. The size of the compact is the same as last years disk

The powder is separated into three sections, all matte, that range from a very light brown / beige at the top, a light-medium cooler tone brown in the middle and a deeper reddened brown shade at the bottom. I love how the disk is big enough to allow you to get your brush into each colour comfortably. Especially when you’re working with a bronzer that you can customize the colour of (the higher up you go, the lighter it gets), it makes the compact user friendly.

When I first used this product, I need to swirl my brush into the compact a few times (I use a wispy long hared brush to apply my bronzer) to get the product going, but once I did, the pigment latched on to the brush and diffused beautifully on my skin. For reference, I am a NC30-35 at MAC and feel that this bronzer does a great job of adding dimension, depth and just life back into my skin. During the summer months I could see myself dipping into the bottom reddish brown shade but for winter to fall seasons I use the middle shade and buff out the edges with the lightest colour at the top.

Overall, this is two home runs in a row for Clarins. I adore the 2017 bronzing collection as I do the 2018 one. If curious, I shot last years bronzer below and review on my blog linked here.  I wish this wasn’t limited edition because I always have to fight with the decision to get a backup because this is the only bronzer I need!
