ColourPop Super Shock Eyeshadows: Nudes

I’ve heard of ColourPop for years now and after a limited selection of products became available on Sephora, the curiosity took over and I just had to place an order. Although the range on Sephora didn’t interest me, I browsed through the ColourPop website to find some pieces that has me all the way excited.

When I opened the box, my first impression was… well… confusion. The product shots and even swatches on the website look so different from the actual products in real life. That’s really why I started this blog, I wanted to offer un-edited images and opinions to others so you can decide whether or not makeup is worth your hard earned dollars. So, here we go!

Overall, I’m disappointed with the discrepancy between the images on the ColourPop site and what the shadows look like in real life. Separating this from the products, they are nice quality at a great price and a unique formula. The SuperShock shadow range is stiff enough so a brush can pick up product but emollient enough to not be a pure powder (it’s like a putty).

Truth: soft champagne with micro shimmer

Sailor: sheer taupe with reflective glitter (this one is quite sheer)

I Heart This: silver taupe

Smash: medium brown with a slight golden sheen

Yeah. I’m just glad I’m not a makeup artist who needs to know exactly what colors I’m getting! I like to watch the unedited youtube videos where they swatch all the colors in normal light, so I can get a better idea of the real color before buying on ColourPop.

I agree about the whole pictures thing. I’ve decided I can’t trust ColourPop anymore because the pictures on their site are so misleading. I got the lippie stick Faded, and on the site it looked like a warm nude type color. I got it in the mail and it was a gorgeous antique rose. Very beautiful. . . totally different than what they advertised!
