ColourPop Super Shock Highlighters

ColourPop Cosmetics is famous for their super shock formula that is a cream in the pot but when applied to the skin maintains the same emoliancy to blend out and then dries and sets like a powder that never looks dry or caky. These highlighters build very elegantly on the skin and vary from pearlized finishes (sheen) to glitter finish that’s highly reflective. I love it when a company is innovative by creating formulas that actually work for the product. A creamy highlighter that blends out makes the difference between a beautiful glow or a textured, blotchy mess. Some powders I find to be too dry on the skin and product ends up bunching up or skipping whereas the creaminess of these products really work to get an effortless and seamless highlight. Each ColourPop highlighter retails for $8 CAD.

L to R: Glazed, Smoke N Whistles, Flexitarian and Wisp

Glazed (limited edition)

This is my favorite highlighter of the bunch so if it ever comes back I wouldnt sleep on it. Despite having light bronze veins throughout the product, the finish is a golden based pearl shade with a glowy finish (no shimmer or glitter). I love using this as a topper over my cream highlighters to amp up the glow without ever overdoing it. This adds such a beautiful radiance to my skin that gives me very hydrated and glowy skin, beyond what any other product in my collection can do.

Flexitarian

I bought this one because Kathleen Lights raves about it. She says that it’s an extremely intense highlight that is not for the faint at heart. Well, I’m a faint at heart makeup lover who gravitates towards more natural looking products so I’m not sure why I picked this up. Flexitarian is a light champaign colour that errs on the soft pink side. I can totally see what Kathleen was saying, there are some shimmer sparkles in this that creates quite an intense highlight. For that reason, it doesnt get much love in my collection but for those who like to shine for the Gods would quite enjoy this.

Smoke n Whistles

Smoke N Whistles is a very light slightly pinky champaign shade (in the same colour family as Flexitarian but about 3 shades lighter) with intense sparkle in it. Similar to Flexitarian this is an extremely intense highlight that delivers a shimmer reflect when applied. For those who like Flexitarian but find it too dark for your skin, this would be a good alternative.

Wisp

Wisp is a golden, soft bronze shade that with an intense pearlized reflex. This would best suit medium to medium deep skins and be the best alternative for Glazed in terms of finish.

I L.O.V.E ColourPop so much! It’s so great they make affordable products for low budget people such as myself! Have you ever tried their bronzer?

SO true! I wish I had discovered this brand earlier, could have saved so much money on shadows, concealers and bronzers! Which I have tried 🤗 … they’re uber pigmented but also blend out wonderfully on the face. Have you tried their bronzers? What’s your favorite shade?
