Making Baking Lovers….. UNITE! The Dermablend Loose Setting Powder ($27 CAD) in Original is a “a weightless, translucent powder that sets makeup for 16 hours of consistent, transfer resistant & smudge free makeup wear”.
I bought this product to bake my under eye areas with and reverse contour (baking my jaw line, right beneath my contour). I usually go in with a wet beauty blender and dab the product onto my skin while I finish up my eyes, then either use the beautyblender to dab the product into the skin or use a stiff brush to dust off the excessive amounts.
When I first used this product, I went in with a heavy hand to bake and found that it left a white cast on my skin when I tried to remove the excess (with a beauty blender and a brush). I could literally see the white product left on my skin so the next day, instead of baking I took a brush and dipped it into the powder to set my concealer and it worked much better to set and slightly brighten up my under eye area. The last day, I went in to bake with a smaller amount of product and removed it much sooner than I had initially and I was saved from the weird white cast.
Once I found out how to use this (either dust with a brush or lightly bake), I do enjoy the product. For the price and what I get, I’d probably continue to use my RCMA No Color Powder since it works just as well for a fraction of the price ($12 CAD cheaper).
This powder does brighten up my complexion, sets my concealer and doesnt look dry or cakey on the skin. All in all, it is a nice product but not a holy grail one for me. This is beauty swatched approved.
