Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Soft Matte Foundation 3W1.5 Fawn

Estee Lauder Double Wear Light foundation ($50 CAD) – 3W1.5 Fawn

The Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation has long been a cult favorite. Famous for it’s coverage and lasting power, it’s been a fail safe for so many people people. While Estee Lauder and their packaging does not have any wow appeal, when a product gets such rave reviews for so long in spite of that, I can believe that the hype is real.

Double Wear Light continues to boast the same lasting power as Double Wear with a soft matte finish (which to me, reads ‘natural’) and allows me to control the dew on my face in the places I want it.

One of the things I like best about the Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Soft Matte Foundation t is that it contains a concentrated amount of hyaluronic acid, which is my favorite way to stay matte. Counterintuitive? Let me explain…

Oily skin is dehydrated (mind blown). Your body produces oil to overcompensate for dry skin as it’s natural way of hydrating it. The dyer you are, the oiler you get, which is really important when considering which skincare products are right for balancing your skin. So, I love that this foundation’s technique for being matte is by having hyaluronic acid in it, a key ingredient to add long lasting hydration.

Where the Double Wear counterpart is more full coverage, Cover Wear Light claims to have a light-to-medium coverage that builds invisibly and looks natural.

I would say the Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Soft Matte Foundation errs more on the side of buildable medium coverage than light, but it sits nicely on the skin and lasts all day with a natural finish (not overly matte or glowy).

The Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Soft Matte Foundation comes in a thin squeeze tube, plastic bottle, ideal for traveling or storing in a tight shelf.

The naming conventions go from C (cool), N (neutral) and W (warm) for yellow to olive skin tones. The numbers range across 7 colour categories for a total of 25 shades. The shade I bought, 3W1.5 is described as a light shade for warm and golden undertones

Overall, I like the Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Soft Matte Foundation but it’s nothing amazing or unique that I dont already have in my collection. I wouldnt repurchase, but this is a nice travel foundation that gives me good coverage and a nice colour match.
