Curiosity took over when I had to find out what this $100 CAD Guerlain foundation was all about. This foundation is meant to impart a radance onto the skin and comes in 5 shades.
The packaging is beautiful: glossy black bottle with gold accents. The pump works like a dream and the foundation is heavy!
Upon application this foundation has the classif Guerlain foundation scent, which I would say is pretty strong for those of you who dont like scent. I actually enjoy the scent – its a rich floral scent, does not sound artificial or too ‘tangy’ as sometimes floral scents can smell like. Once applied on the face, the scent does not linger.
I have pale beige 01 which is way too light for me (i’m MAC NC35). This departs a nice medium coverage. The texture is beautifully creamy however once it sets. it transforms into more of a demi-matte powder finish.
Its a nice foundation but I dont get the $100 price tag. If you’re really curious to try a Guerlain foundation, I would recommend the Lingerie de Peau foundation ($69 CAD). This foundation has the same scent, but leaves my skin a lot more luminous with a nice medium coverage. My only concern was the once limited colour selection, which has now expanded to offer 14 shades.
My ALL TIME FAVOURITE Guerlain buy is DEFINITELY their concealer (I’ve done a review) – it’s 5/5 rated on Sephora and for good reason. Tarte shape who?…
