Do you ever feel that you look the freshest in the morning and by the time the afternoon rolls around you’re looking tired and feeling worn in? Maybe that’s just me and I’m not a fan of mid-day makeup touch ups (I spend so much time getting ready in the morning that I expect to set and forget my makeup until i’m ready to wipe it away at night). But there’s something so special about that fresh feeling I have in the morning, and if I can replicate that with this product by dotting it on my face in the middle of the day, it’ll be worth it.
The Hourglass Veil Retouching Fluid ($40 CAD) is marketed as ‘your concealers best friend’ that you would take with you on the go to add brightness, coverage and hydration to the skin.
While I love the idea of this product and would totally put it in my bag for that fresh 9am feeling as a mid-day touch up, it did not live up to my expectations.
The product is extremely thin and liquidly – so much so that beyond adding no coverage, the product clung on to some dry patches to accentuate them and slid right off other oily areas of my face.
The product has a dome foot applicator that doesnt pick up a lot of product because the consistency of the fluid is so sheer, thin and liquidy, I think this would be better kept in a squeeze tube
The shade fair is a light yellow based cream colour
All in all, I’d say save your money and find another. This adds nothing to my face full of makeup and I dont see this doing much for those who dont wear makeup because it doesnt add anything: coverage, luminosity or brightness. The formula is so thin it really just blends away or comprises the texture of my makeup. This is not beauty swatched approved.
