It’s been a while since I’ve watched a YouTube video that’s caused me to hit the pause button and run over to purchase the product being featured. So needless to say when I was watching a Lisa Eldridge video and saw her applying the Lancome L’absolu Rouge SPF 12 ($34.72 CAD) lipstick in Beige Mirage to her model, I thought the end result was absolutely stunning and bought it off of Amazon (for some reason I couldn’t find this on the lancome site or on Sephora, weird).
The component is really slick, like none other i’ve seen from the brand. It has a magnetic closure and is shaped like a lipstick bullet in sleek black packaging.
Beige Mirage is a warm light to medium pink lip colour with a sheen. It applies sheer upon first application but can be built up to a medium opacity upon layering. The bullet is extremely soft with this lipstick i.e. when I go into apply it, the entire bullet shifts scraping the side of the bullet against the component. I could easily break this if I twisted it up too high and applied it with pressure so instead I apply this lip colour from the very top so it “smushes down” instead of sideways.
The lasting powering isn’t really there with this lip colour as I can get about 2 hours of wear before it disappears.
Overall it’s a great lip colour and when blended out with a lip liner I can get the exact same look as I saw in the Lisa Eldridge video. Although really soft and doesn’t last I usually switch to my jack black lip balms throughout the day so I don’t mind. I wouldn’t repurchase because this shade is highly duepable at a more sturdy format but for what it is I do enjoy it. This is beauty swatched approved.
