Did I ever tell you that I’ve only ever owned one lip pencil (Pillow Talk from Charlotte Tilbury)? If you saw my makeup collection, which is admittedly the size of a small Sephora, this could sound extremely strange.
Well, I only ever wear nudes (i’ll do a bright red or purple on occasion) and dont really see the need for a lip pencil when I like the shape of my lips the way they are. But of course, YouTube got me and after seeing someone apply Oak underneath a nude lipstick, it ever so slighly altered the colour of the lipstick and gave her lips a much more perfected look to them. For the purpose of enhacnign the colour of my lipsticks, I went out and bought the MAC Lip Pencil ($22 CAD) in Oak.
Oak is a medium terracotta shade that errs more brown than orange. The formula is not very waxy but pigmented and has a unique really almost pencil feel to it that the formula clings onto the lips and creates a perfect lip line for those who like to perfect their lines. It’s a nice formula and good shade that is beauty swatched approved
