Tarte Tarteist PRO Glow Liquid Highlighter ($36 CAD) This highlighter just didnt work for me. The only thing I liked about it was the base colour (medium golden champagne) but other than that, the formula is stiff and blotchy and the product has glitter in it, which i’m not a fan of. I’m wearing this as an eyeshadow to finish it up (thanks for the idea Jodi from A Brash Attitude!) and will definitely not be repurchasing.
Givenchy Ombre Couture Cream Eyeshadow: No. 14 Nude Plumetis ($31.50). I’ve been on the hunt for a nice skin tone cream eye shadow that is opaque enough to cancel out the redness and veining on my lids and creamy enough to spread evenly while leaving a natural finish. I’m not quite there yet, with applying concealer on my eyelids because it feels heavy and creases quickly, even with the smallest amount on my lids. The hunt continues as this is sheer, does not prime very well and applies quite blotchy on the lids. I did a full review, linked here if interested!
YOUR SKIN BUT BETTER CC+ AIRBRUSH PERFECTING POWDER WITH SPF 50+ ($45 CAD) in Medium. I cant believe this powder has an SPF 50+, I find that amazing! But… that’s where the praise ends for me. It’s really chalky, adds no coverage and makes my skin look more dull after applying it. The shade is a medium neutral, almost slightly pink shade. All in all, a no go for me
Stila Aqua Glow Serum Foundation ($45 USD) and Concealer ($27 CAD) : the concealer has a serum consistency whereas the foundation is a bit creamier but still a soft, thin consistency. I do enjoy these products but they take a lot of work to buff into the skin to look good. I need to spend at least double the time buffing the foundation and concealer into my skin for it to look nice and it’s just not worth the effort with the alternatives I have in my collection.
