How can you resist a setting powder that looks like a cute little macaroon? Well I guess the $59 CAD price point would be a great way to stop someone in their tracks, but something pulled me towards this and I had to try it.
The Marc Jacobs Beauty Finish-Line Perfecting Coconut Setting Powder is formulated with five forms of coconut and cocoa butter to set makeup with a ‘soft-matte finish’ for up to eight hours. Similar to the new Hourglass loose setting powder, the Marc Jacobs powder has a mesh at the top of the lid that is meant to dispense the perfect amount of powder for application and is mess free for travel. Now, for those who like to bake I imagine you may find yourself tapping out product rendering the mesh a bit useless but for those who target powder areas of the face, this is useful! The mesh is a flexible cloth that dips into the powder to truly deposit the perfect amount of powder on the brush
The powder has a yellow/ buttercup tone to it that really brightens skin leaving behind a bright cast, while the yellow colour dusts away. I get a finish that is not overly matte but this removes the shine from my face and does a great job of setting liquids on my face. This is a beautiful product that I would recommend to oily and normal skin beauties out there. Any dry skin beauties should look into the Hourglass loose powder (review on my blog) because it’s slightly more hydrating and leaves behind a light sheen on the face.
