Melt Cosmetics is a brand that has long intrigued me. I reviewed the twenty-seven palette on my blog and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the palette. I can tell that the creators of the brand are makeup lovers themselves. Everything from the packaging to the formula and shades of the line are designed with what makeup lovers look for- pigment, blendability, packaging and shades.
I purchased the Melt Cosmetics highlighter in Stargazer ($50.70 CAD).
Stargazer comes in a black magnetic compact with a mirror on the inside.
Stargazer has the most beautiful ‘melt cosmetics’ print embossed in the pan. I cringe every time I go in with a brush because the design starts to fade!
Stargazer is a light champagne gold shade with a reflective finish that is neither glittery nor shimmery. It’s more of a metallic sheen.
The above swatch is quite heavy to illustrate the colour but when blended out, Stargazer delivers the most beautiful reflective sheen. This can be built up when layered or used wet or toned down by buffing in the product with a dry brush.
Overall, this is a really expensive highlighter. Although the packaging, finish and colour of Stargazer is beautiful, it’s not uncommon. I’d say save your money or wait for a sale because you likely have something very similar in your collection. In fact, I have been reaching for my Essence Pure Nude Highlighter ($12 CAD) over this for a similar colour and finish.
