NARS Wanted eyeshadow palette

Try as I may to resist buying the NARS Wanted collection, a recent re-stock tipped me over the edge and I bought both the NARS Wanted eyeshadow palette ($74 CAD) and the blush palette ($74 CAD).

There is something about the formulas of the Wanted powders that make it feel different than the powders in the regular NARS lineup. Specifically, the colours are creamier, more powdery but richer pigmented. This formula is a more modern take on NARS’s traditional eyeshadow formula, which is a lot stiffer. Many are not a fan of the traditional NARS eyeshadow formulas but I don’t mind them at all. I find that they work perfectly fine although the experience is different to some of the other shadows I own because they are a bit more stiff, it nevertheless gets the job done with minimal effort.

I have a love hate relationship with the NARS Wanted eyeshadow palette compact. While it has a nice size mirror, minimal packaging with a nice enough weight to feel luxe but not burdensome, it is a PAIN to open! This has a clasp closure on it that can make me break a nail just trying to open the palette. If I use my tweezers to pry open the clasp, I end up denting the palette and that just hurts my heart. If this had a magnetic closure or even a looser clasp, the packaging would be a 10/10 for me.

The NARS Wanted eyeshadow palette is quite reminiscent of the Anastasia Modern Renaissance colour story, being that it is full of reds, roses tones with a mix of cool and warm tones. The NARS Wanted eyeshadow palette contains 5 matte shades, 6 shimmer shades and 1 strong sheen shade. The formula is consistently creamy and pigmented across all of the colours with the blackish brown shade at the end being slightly patchy when applied heavily but when built up gives me an even coating.

Overall, the NARS Wanted eyeshadow palette is a great take on wearable glam, for something slightly more amped up for the office but also comfortably glam for those who dont always want to wear neon colours. While I do enjoy the colours and formula of this, I don’t find myself reaching for it often because the majority of the shades are too glam for what I reach for on a daily basis. As a true soft makeup lover at heart, I admire these shades but only found myself using the first 4 quad shade at the top left. For $75 CAD, I cant justify keeping this, so it’ll go back for me.

What type of makeup do you wear on a daily basis?

This palette reminds of one of revolutions new reloaded palettes (Velvet rose). Its only £4, maybe you should try reviewing that one.

I came to the same conclusion about the wanted palette and also returned it. I’m so glad someone else felt how I did
