Although the brand Rodial may sound new to many, it was founded 18 years ago in the UK by a journalist, Maria Hatzistefanis, as a skin care brand that has since expanded to include makeup as well. I got introduced to the brand when I was in London, pulled in by the dark alluring booth and names of some of the skin care items (dragons blood and snake serum). Rodial is available internationally and for my Canadian beauties, check out your Shoppers Drug Mart for the brand.
Ultimately, as a true makeup junkie, it was the makeup side of the booth that I ended up spending the most of my time in. Here, I came across the Skin Tint + SPF 20 (45 GBP). What pulled me in about this is that, despite being marketed as a skin tint, it has a medium coverage, doesn’t give me horrible flash-black and contains amino-peptides, which helps for any visible signs of aging. The finish is a matte coverage, but not overly/intensely matte. This does feel like foundation on the skin but it’s not cakey.
The shade I have is Hamptons 02, which is the second lightest shade out of the range and has a golden-yellow undertone to it. For my NC35 beauties out there, you’ll find that this shade works nicely for you.
This is a pricey number so if you’re content with your foundation/collection then i’d skip this. However, if you’ve been on a hunt for a foundation that helps with visible signs of aging, has a decent SPF to it and no frills – this could be worth trying out.
