Although IT cosmetics is best known for their makeup products, the makeup is founded in skincare fundamentals so it was only natural that they came out with a skincare line as well. I tried a cream and primer from the brand that I have been using for the last two month so I think I have a pretty good handle of my opinion.
Confidence in a Cream™ Transforming Moisturizing Super Cream ($62 CAD)
The main benefit of this cream is hydration, which I agree that it adds and the formula is quite thick. I find that this cream doesn’t really sink that well into my skin and if I apply too much I can feel it on my bare face throughout the day. After using this daily for the past two months, I havent noticed a difference in my skin.
On the plus side, If I use a pea size amount, it can cover my whole face and it wears well underneath foundation. On days where I am exposed to a lot of recycled air, I use a thick layer of this cream at night, almost as a sleeping mask, which I enjoy.
Overall, I prefer gel moisturizers that I find more light weight, deliver greater moisture to my skin and penetrate my skin faster and better. I wouldnt purchase this again so I cant beauty swatch approve it.
No. 50 Serum Anti-Aging Collagen Veil Primer ($58 CAD)
The name of this product was super confusing to me. For the longest time I was wearing this like a serum and until recently realized its more of a primer! Once I got myself straight, I realized that I enjoy wearing this either way. The primer consists of 50 beneficial skincare ingredients and comes with a dropper as well as a pump for which ever way you fancy using it! The consistency is quite thin and gel like. It comes out as a white liquid but blends in to a transparent finish. The finish leaves my skin feeling quite silky smooth. I can appreciate the hydrating claims to this primer although it is not the most hydrating primer I have ever used, it is nice. For the price however I think there are far better skin care/primers on the market. For that reason, this is not beauty swatched approved
