The Yves Saint Laurant Souffle D’eclat Poudre Libre Translucide ($62 CAD) in shade 02 Pink Attraction is YSL’s take on a loose setting powder. The shade name is very deceptive as there is nothing pink about this powder: it’s a light yellow colour that I like to use under my eyes as a brightening and setting powder. Despite the expensive price tag, I do enjoy this a lot.
The powder is finely milled (but not overly milled) so it picks up well on a beauty blender or brush and sticks onto the face long enough to either mattify the skin or bake with to leave behind a light/bright effect. This powder is not too heavy so it doesn’t dry out my normal skin or make me look cakey. To the touch, my skin feels like silk after applying it.
Overall, its a really nice loose setting powder to bake with or set your makeup. If you have the cash to spare, it’s worth a try but if not, dont lose sleep on it because the ever-affordable RCMA lose setting powder is a great dupe for a similar effect. This is beauty swatched approved.
