During some of the sales after Christmas in 2017,I snagged the Tarte Be Your Own Tarteist Eye & Cheek Palette for $23 CAD (normally $49 CAD) and have FINALLY got around to reviewing this now!
I am obsessed with the colourful packaging on this, as you can see below. It’s sooo pretty!
The colour palette is quite soft and neutral, perfect for those who work in a more conservative environment or enjoy wearing natural makeup
The formula of these shadows are quite powdery, which i’m okay with if the pigment is there and I can control the blend enough to the point where the colour doesn’t completely disappear but I get a decent payoff. The issue with the shimmers in this palette is that it’s more powdery than it is pigmented so it becomes more of a sheen than a true pop of colour. To me, this is where the palette falls short so I’d say grab this if you are inspired of the neutral colour selection on sale but I wouldn’t recommend this at full price. The blush in the palette is nice and holds true to the Tarte formula of being long lasting, blendable, pigmented yet soft on the cheeks. Since you can buy Tarte blushes separately and the shimmer eye shadows were… well… dull, for me this is not beauty swatched approved.
