Tom Ford Ultra Shine Lip Color Bare ($70 USD) is the height of luxury. At 3x the price of an average lipstick that I would pay for, the Tom Ford Ultra Shine Lip Color is basically a semi-pigmented lip balm. Now, I cant just leave it there because paying $70 for a lip balm cannot be rationalized. While the formula is not defined online, I call it a lip balm+ because it has the pigment and wear time of a soft lipstick with the shine of a balm and the comfort of a lipgloss.
Packaging wise, this is the most beautiful component I own:
I purchased the shade Bare because it looked like a beautiful, soft neutral pink shade. I will forever try and find a dupe for my beloved MAC feed the senses LE lipstick and while this is different, it’s in the same family house.
In the morning when my lips are super red, this tones them down while adding a soft beautiful cool toned lilac pink shade without looking pastel or deadly.
Although Bare seems like it has a creamy sheen finish, there are actually tiny particles of shimmer in the bullet. Reading that, I would run away and never look back but having bought it, it’s not noticeable. Upon application, I can feel a bit of grit on the bullet that dissipates on the lips. I dont really know the point of this since it’s untraceable on the lips but maybe it reflects light (I havent noticed).
The Tom Ford Ultra Shine Lip Color wears a comfortable 3 hours on me, is lightweight on the lips and once gone leaves my lips feeling plump.
Overall, this is a beautiful lipstick colour, formula and the packaging is the cherry on top.
