Yves Saint Laurent Instant Moisture Glow

The YSL Instant Moisture Glow ($65 CAD) is a gel-like primer that leaves the skin feeling supple and moisturized. I view this primer as the solution for those who don’t believe in primers, because this acts and feels a lot like a moisturizer. The first ingredient listed on the box (meaning the primer contains the most amount of this) is water.

Even for those who do believe in primers will love this because foundation wears beautifully on top of it. If you’ve ever encountered frustration when applying makeup over dry skin (even if it doesn’t feel dry, your foundations sometimes will tell the truth!) and notice that it cakes up in certain areas, you get dry patches or weird bumps around your eyes will appreciate this. It is important to note that this primer does not help with increasing the longevity of your makeup so if that is a main concern you may not be satisfied with this.

In summary, this is a really nice base for foundation but for the price ($65 CAD) you could use a large amount of your moisturizer (I promise for most, if you think you’re using enough moisturizer – you’re not. Multiply your dosage by at least 2) and get a similar effect. So, if you’re looking to indulge the YSL Instant Moisture Glow is for you however if you want to save your money and opt for your current moisturizer you will get the same effect. This is beauty swatched approved (but not a complete necessity!).

    1. Thank you! I have a few more YSL beauty reviews coming up (lose powders, foundations, highlighter and a contour palette). If there is anything you want to learn more about sooner I’m more than happy to post it quicker 🙂
