Urban Decay Ultimate Naked Basics Palette

The Urban Decay Ultimate Naked Basics Palette ($68 CAD) contains 11 matte eye shadows and 1 shimmer. As much as I tried to refrain from purchasing this palette (because let’s face it, I had reached the point of having ‘too much’ makeup years ago lol) the colours kept drawing me in every time I’d walk into a House of Fraser (a department store in the UK). Finally, when it came on sale online, I didn’t think twice and snagged it. The main reason why I’m so attracted to this palette is because I love how usable it is. I could use any of these colours on an everyday basis for every look that I am going for. It’s been a while since I’ve felt like I want to use every colour in an eyeshadow palette.

The compact is this textured rose gold pattern. It has a satisfying magnetic closure and is pretty slim. To be honest, I like the magnetic closure and how slim the compact is but I’d prefer a basic design if it meant reducing the price of the palette, which is pretty steep ($68 CAD) in my opinion.

The shades are true to Urban Decay’s eyeshadow formula (post re-formulation) of being pigmented, creamy enough and bold on the eyes. It’s what your standard eyeshadow would feel like. For being perfectly uncomplicated and having beautiful shades, this is beauty swatched approved. For those unwilling to spend almost $70 CAD on an eyeshadow palette (I don’t blame you) this is a good colour palette to inspire a ‘build your own’ makeup geek, morphie, NYX single shadows.

The pictures captured the exact colours of each eyeshadow so I’ll hold off on the descriptions unless you have a question please let me know.

  1. The packaging! I don’t think the colours would suit me personally but it’s such a nice palette! Great post, it’d mean a lot if you checked my blog out too x
