Urban Decay After Glow 8 Hour Powder Blush

The Urban Decay After Glow 8 Hour Powder Blush ($32 CAD) is nice, but nothing to write home about. In terms of lasting power, these blushes fail the 8 hour wear test on me (I have normal skin) and I can get about a 5-6 hour wear. I find the Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes ($35 CAD) to last longer on me (I can get a full 8 hour wear). Of course, this depends on the type of skin you have, as well as the type of foundation and primer you use.

The formula is soft and pigmented enough to show up on the skin but not too overpowering, which is the best thing I like about these blushes. The colours I have are pretty but nothing that can’t be duped by cheaper alternatives.

The shades I have are: Rapture, a medium mauve (similar to NARS SIN on the skin) and Fetish, a warm medium pink colour. Both shades look like they have a slight sheen to them in the pan but apply matte on the face. I do love the shades and the pigment is nice but like I said, these don’t ‘wow’ me and could be better if it held true to its 8 hour wear claim.

The packaging gets full marks from me: its a sleek magnetic compact that has a mesh ‘UD’ carved out on the front where you can see the colour through.

All in all, I don’t find myself reaching for these very often and think they are overpriced for what they are. These are not beauty swatched approved.
