My Sephora Wishlist: September 2017

There are so many new releases at Sephora, it’s hard to keep up sometimes! Since I thought it would be kind of fun to share, here are a few new launches on my wishlist. What’s on yours?

YSL All Hours Primer ($58 CAD) is a mattifying product  meant to keep your makeup shine free and lasting all day.  Even though I have normal combination skin, and tend to stay away from mattifying products because they appear to drying on my skin, on the Sephora site this product is said to be meant for normal to dry skin. Although that seems a bit weird to me, YSL primers never let me down.

YSL Tatouage Couture Liquid Matte Lip Stain ($42 CAD) in Colour 7: Nu Interdit The shade of this lip stain looks like the perfect warm nude mauve shade for my skin. Although lip products tend to look darker when applied on me, I’d cant wait until this comes out in store so I can swatch it. The applicator seems really strange to me (it’s like an inverted ‘u’) but if the shade and texture are good, I’m fine with it!

YSL

Tom Ford Eye Defining Pen ($68 CAD)Deeper – I know I’ve probably lost my mind to want a $68 CAD eye liner but the amount of rave reviews I’ve seen on Tati (Glam Life Guru’s) channel is sucking me in! She also mentioned that this pen has lasted her the majority of the year (which liquid pends tend to last me anyway), so it helps a bit with the sticker shock. From what I’ve seen, this pen is super black, matte and the applicator (there are two sides – one more and one a bit less precise) make drawing straight lines and wings a breeze.

Tom Ford

Tom Ford: Eye Primer Duo ($52 CAD): ok – I know this is starting to get more and more ridiculous but the concept of an eye primer with a powder on top to set it is genius to me! That’s what I do with my eye primers currently so the completely illogical part of my brain is telling me that this duo was meant to be and will create the perfect canvas for my eye shadow. I’ve been on the hunt for a creamy eye shadow primer that conceals my redness and makes my shadows last all day. I’m putting my money on you, Tom Ford, dont let me down…

TF2

Tom Ford Ultra Shine Lip Gloss ($54 CAD) in 10 Tawny Pink yes, I consider buying a $54 lip gloss. The colour, applicator and quality of Tom Ford products are the reasons I’m so curious to try this lip gloss. I’m also over the matte lip (I feel like we’ve been seeing it everywhere for so long now), i’m ready for the shine!

TF

Kat Von D Brushes ($30 CAD – $47 CAD) Kat Von D has had brushes in her collection for a few months now, but they’ve continued to remain on my wishlist. I love how these are duo fiber (which makes working with cream products much easier), the density (these brushes dont seem to sparse so I would have greater control of where I blend my products out) and the shapes seem perfect for contour, bronzer. highlight and concealer. The only question is, which one do I go with first…

KVD1

Lilah B. Aglow Face Mist ($64 CAD) is a hydrating makeup mist to set, refresh and hydrate the skin. I’ve haven’t been very lucky with high end makeup sprays. I didnt like the tatcha spray (I didnt notice a difference) and the Caudalie spray (which is super popular on Sephora) made my makeup look weird. I prefer my MAC fix+ and Urban Decay sprays but I’m willing to give another high end spray a try.

LILAB

Makeup For Ever Artist Face Color Highlight, Sculpt and Blush Powder ($29 CAD) The price of these products finally seem a bit more realistic to me than what other, perhaps higher end brands, have been offering lately. Although not drug store by any means, it feels like for the amount of product you get and the quality the price tag is more realistic. The shades I have been eyeing from this range are the mauvy shades / cool toned contour shades: S112, S114 and S116 (the top three in the below swatch picture).

MUFE

NARS Bord De Plage Highlighting and Bronzing Palette ($72 CAD)– I feel like this is the type of product that by the time I finally make up my mind, it’ll be sold out and I’ll have makeup FOMO. This palette contains two bronzing shades (Casino and Laguna) as well as 4 highlighting shades including beautiful warm tone golds that I tend to gravitate to. While my NARS collection is quite extensive (foundation, blush, eyeshadow and concealers), I dont own any of their highlight and contour/bronzing products so this could be a good buy.

NARS

Natasha Denona Blush Duo ($49 CAD) in 15 Sheer Nude – Everytime I walk into my Sephora and swatch this, I always think i’ll go home and buy it through ebates but never have mustered up the courage to do it. The quality of this duo is true to what many say of the Natasha Denona brand. While I wont be buying her eyeshadow palettes because there are a lot of shades that i’d never wear, I can see myself rocking this duo every day. The powders and sheen it gives off on the skin are really soft and the colours are stunning.ND
