Burberry Lip Velvet Lipstick: Rosewood and Military Red

Burberry Lip Velvet lipsticks ($39 CAD) is an extremely creamy and pigmented formula. It glides really nicely over the lips without tugging or pulling. Upon one application it applies a bit unevenly on my lips because the formula is so creamy it tends to break apart a bit at the bullet and deposit more colour in certain areas than others but after a few swipes I get a full even coverage. Contrary to the description of the finish on Sephora: ‘a soft matte with a velvet finish’ I’d say the finish is more of a sheen and I dont see anything velvet about it. These lipsticks are moisturizing and feel comfortable throughout the wear.

Rosewood is a deep pink/mauve colour
Military red: rich bright red

These colours are nice but like mascaras, I hold lipsticks up to a very high standard because finding much cheaper alternatives are so easy. These lipsticks, although nice, are no exception and can be easily duped so although nice, simple lipsticks they areĀ not beauty swatched approved.
