Mally Beauty, found in Ulta stores and online (and also available online through mallybeauty.com) is a makeup line that I have yet to fully explore. As my curiosity took me over to the Mally section at Ulta, I was intrigued by the shade ad consistency of the ‘Perfect Prep Under Eye Brightener’ ($35 USD). Note: the packaging has since changed from a pot to a tube, which I like for sanitary and easy of use purposes.
Although this is marketed to counteract blue under eye veining, I bought and used this for brightening my under eye area (I apply three dots in a triangle under my eye to the end of my nose). This does neutralize the redness I have around my nose but since it’s such a bright yellow colour, I primarily enjoy using it to brighten up my under eyes, before applying my concealer.
The consistency is watery but pigmented and very brightening at the same time – it looks really liquidy in the pot but when I apply this onto my face, I do get a great amount of pigment that blends beautifully onto my skin.
The consistency is light enough so that it doesn’t cake onto my skin or under foundation. The colour left behind (although it looks scary on a swatch) is actually really subtle yet brightening on my NC35 skin.
All in all, it is an expensive product but I do enjoy it and would repurchase. This has made its way into my favorite products and I can feel the difference when I’m without it. This is beauty swatched approved.
