Bourjois is my favorite drug store makeup brand for base products. For those who may be unaware, Bourjois is a heritage brand created in the 1860s by a French actor. Chanel then bought and operated Bourjois until about 3 years ago when Coty then bought BOurjois Cosmetics form Chanel.
With such a rich legacy history, this brand definitely feels luxury despite it’s availability in many drug store locations. The price is more expensive than a Maybelline for example but I can appreciate the quality that comes with it.
The Healthy Mix range from Bourjois boasts a list of fruit ingredients to enhance the complexion, including: apricot for radiance, melon for hydration and apple to protect your youth. Here are my a few of my favs from this range:
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation ($35 CAD) in 55 Beige
This foundation leaves behind literally a healthy glow, or said differently a demi-matte finish. The formula blends effortlessly into the skin, lasts all day and the shade range (although extremely limited with only 8 options) just happens to match my skin better than any other foundation shade I own. I can get a light or medium buildable coverage with this product. For my full coverage lovers (i.e. Kat Von D type of full coverage) you may not like this one as much). This is my fail safe foundation for whenever I need to depend on my foundation because it never lets me down. Pictured below is shade 55 Beige.
Bourjois Healthy Mix Anti-Fatigue Concealer ($20 CAD) in 53 Dark
I like to pair a slightly lighter concealer with my foundation range, so the one I have pictured below is in 53 Dark (although there is nothing dark about this concealer and again, Bourjois needs to step it up on the shade variety). This gives me a light to buildable medium coverage. The consistency of this concealer is really creamy, easily blendable and really evens out my complexion.
Healthy Balance Unifying Powder ($25 CAD) in 52 Vanille
This powder is housed in a thin, sleek compact. The texture of the powder is finely milled, velvety and highly pigmented. I mainly use this to set my under eye concealer and to reverse contour, which this powder does an excellent job in brightening, setting and smoothing out my skin. It looks very natural on the skin and helps mattify some of my oiler areas. I’d say this is best suited for normal to slightly dry skins.
