Guerlain Blurring Active Primer and Lingerie de Peau Aqua Nude Foundation: 03N Natural

The latest base product launches from Guerlain are the Blurring Active Primer and Lingerie de Peau Aqua Nude Foundation. I love how the brand launched a primer with their foundation because it make me feel like both are meant to be paired together (formulas, texture and finish). Maybe it wasn’t and you can certainly use whatever primer you want with this foundation (assuming the ingredients mix well together… aka you wouldn’t use an oil foundation with a water based primer because those two ingredients dont mix well together) but launching a foundation with a primer takes some of the guess work out from me.

The Blurring Active Primer is meant for all skin types to smooth and blur out the look of pores, fine lines and wrinkles while prolonging the wear of your makeup.

I found that this primer does smooth out the skin (but I see this working for people with mid texture, not for those who have problematic skins) and it also does a better job of bluring out the look of pores.  However, I find that the Benefit Porefessional also blurs out the look of my pores to the same extent for $10 cheaper – so if the Benefit one doesn’t work for you or you’re just a Guerlain lover then i’d recommend giving this a try. Lastly, the primer does prolong the wear of my makeup keeping my foundation looking flawless at 6 hours and slightly worn in by 8 (this was tested with no setting spray and using the corresponding foundation).

For me, this is beauty swatched approved, I love wearing it on its own but more so with the foundation that was released with this line. Read more below to hear my in depth thoughts on the primer and foundation!

The primer comes in as squeeze tube bottle with a very precise tip to dispense the product, which I like because it helps you to not over apply too much primer. You dont need a lot of this at all – A pea size amount is enough to cover the entire face because the product spreads very well.

The primer dispenses as a white non-runny texture and once blended into the skin it gets ever-so-slightly tacky, which is good for gripping on to your makeup and helping it last longer. The product is said to be formulated with ‘Elastomer Gum’, which is used to help smooth and blur texture on the skin. It feels slightly silicone-y and blends out to a transparent finish.

The Lingerie de Peau Aqua Nude Foundation is the squeal to the ever-so popular Lingerie de Peau foundation from Guerlain, with the main difference being: (1) coverage (Lingerie de Peau is solid medium, whereas the Aqua version is more buildable medium) and (2) the Aqua version is more hydrating and better suited for those with dry to normal skin tones, whereas the Lingerie de Peau is better for normal to oily skins. Both foundations feel lightweight on the skin and leave behind a beautiful demi matte finish. When coupled with the Blurring Active Primer, this foundation makes my skin look flaweless all day. My ONLY gripe is with the shade range – they recently expanded the Lingerie de Peau library of shades so fingers crossed that comes into the Aqua range as well (currently only has 6 shades).

As a lover of the Lingerie de Peau, I am obsessed with the Aqua version as it hydrates my skin while not compromising the coverage or finish of the LIngerie de Peau that I love. This is beauty swatched approved! continuing reading for more information!

For those familiar with Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation, the Lingerie de Peau Aqua Nude Foundation comes in a similar squeezy tube bottle. While not as glamorous as its Lingere De Peau sibling that comes in a tall glass bottle, I really dont mind the packaging. It’s compact, no frills and I imagine easier to travel with.

I have shade Natural 03N, which would work well for MAC NC 30-35 skin tones. It has a neural undertone to it that blends perfectly into the skin.
