Kylie Cosmetics Creme Lipsticks ($22.23 CAD or $17 USD) have a sweet licorice scent to them that I hate. It perpetuates the ‘kids makeup’ stereotype that I already associate with the brand. Having never tried any of Kylie’s lip products, I decided to go for the creme formula, which are my favorite types of lipsticks, and one orange, one pink nude.
The packaging is a reflective silver component that presses shut with Kylie’s name at the bottom.
Right of the bat, I am impressed with the lip swatches on Kylie’s site, they are quite accurate to how the shades appear in real life. Also, both shades are pigmented (I only have to go over my lips once for full colour opacity), they maintain a beautiful shine on the lips and are comfortable to wear. For reference, these last as long on me as my normal cream lipsticks do (3 hours before they start to fade).
Dulce De Leche is a warm nude terracotta brown shade. While this swatches a lot darker than it applies it leaves a beautiful warm rich nude colour on my lips that not too light
Creme Brule is a soft neutral pink that is a pink lip lovers nude dream (that’s a mouthful). There’s really not much more to say about this, the swatches are accurate to how it appears on the lips!
Overall, the Kylie Cosmetics Creme Lipsticks have such a beautiful formula and i’m actually tempted to try out the rest of this collection. I wish they would change the sent of these, but it’s not so bad that it prevents me from reaching for them. The colours, formula and pigment are surprisingly amazing!
