Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate ($102 CAD) in Intensity 0.5 and 1.0
The Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate palettes contain two cream products: a highlighter and a contour/ bronzer (depending on the shade).
Each compact is held in a velvet pouch that I put my jewelry in to keep the metal untarnished. The compact is made with sturdy materials (I cant tell if it’s metal or thick plastic, it has a good weight to it) and a gold front with the Tom Ford logo embedded into it with a metal closure. It’s minimal while being luxurious, which I appreciate.
The quality of both shades is super emollient / creamy, blends out effortlessly with a brush or hands (it can also be done with a sponge, although not ideal) and melts into the skin to look flawless. I’m truly a huge fan of this product.
Intensity 0.5 is a light contour shade ideal for super pale to light skin tones. The highlighter is the same in both compacts, in that it’s a shimmer-less white glow. I really appreciate the highlighter because most companies try to make this same kind of highlight with a vaseline type of texture. However, the Tom Ford highlighter has a nice slip and it’s transparent enough to suit any skin tone, deliver a glow that is NEVER sticky and compliments my looks on an everyday basis.
I used the 0.5 shade to contour my skin, leaving a subtle but chiseled effect.
Intensity 1.0 is deeper than 0.5, and works more of a bronzer on my skin tone than it does a contour. The bronzer shade is a warm deep shade that compliments medium skins the best.
Overall, I really enjoy the consistency, colours and packaging of the Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate palettes. The formula of the creams are truly luxe and in my opinion, not dupeable in the market (yet).
